Trance Meditation

Meditation is perhaps the best known ageless technique practiced by spiritual seekers to reach enlightenment. Vedic masters have taught various forms of meditation techniques and they can best be divided into those which require concentration and the others which are easy, effortless, simple and require no concentration.

In today’s fast pace of life, one needs an automatic technique which can be practiced anywhere at any time by people of every religion, just like in the practice of yoga.

Trance Meditation is a simple, natural, effortless technique whereby the mind easily and naturally arrives at the source of thought, the settled state of the mind – Pure consciousness, which is the source of all creative processes. Trance meditation is practiced for 15–20 minutes in the morning and evening, while sitting comfortably with the eyes closed. During this technique, the individual’s awareness settles down and experiences a unique state of restfulness while being aware of all surroundings. As the body becomes deeply relaxed, the mind transcends all mental activity and is aware of a blissful silence. This is a state of mind which is free of all stress. A thought-free and therefore, desire-free state of mind. This is also like returning to the original state of consciousness which is pure and free of negativity.

A stress free mind means stress free bodies as both are connected and interdependent. When the mind is calm the body is relaxed and both in a state of pureness which keeps negativity out and therefore, disease and tension has no place within it. Health, both mental and physical improves. Research has found that most of our health problems are psychosomatic. Having stress free body and mind, result in an overall well-being.

A stress free mind means better concentration and creativity. This in itself brings about correct decisions and therefore, success in life’s activities. Relationships improve and subtle awareness akin to being psychic becomes evident.

With all these benefits one wonders why people all over the world don’t just sit and meditate twice daily for 20 minutes. It would have made the world such a better place. Learning and practicing Trance meditation improves the quality of life within you as well as around you.
